Happy New Year 2021

Happy New Year Everyone!

I wanted to share a free printable with you.

This has been updated for 2021, so you can reach your goals and live your best life. Whether your goal is to exercise more, read your Bible everyday or take a photo each day this can help.

Simply color in the circle when you complete your task for that day and keep the momentum going.

If you miss a day or two - don't give up. Just keep trying. Progress not perfection is what's important. One small step each day can lead to big changes in the future.

Enjoy!

Printable Binder Covers

I have 3 kids in school this coming year (7th, 9th and 11th grade). Let me just tell you that they have used A LOT of binders over the years.

Here's a quick tip, check your local thrift stores year round and pick up any binders in good condition. Shopping at your local office supply store gets real pricey when you need to buy multiple 2-3" binders.

When shopping in your local second hand/thrift store make sure they are in good shape and will last. They can't be ripping at the sides and they must close well.  My kids prefer that they have a clear front pocket to add their own cover to make it personalized.

Since there were so many cute designs out there, I thought I would share a few that you can print out and use from sites all over their web. There are so many more. This is just a sampling. Enjoy!

Coloring Pages for Adults

I've really enjoyed doing coloring pages over the winter break and have found quite a few really great sites that offer printable pages. There are also two e-books at the bottom that you can get.  All at no cost (Make sure the Amazon price is still $0.00).

Print out a page or two, gather your colored pencils/markers, and start coloring. Have fun!

I Have A Dream

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday and he is famous for his "I Have A Dream" speech.  I thought I would share a dream of mine and a cute printable to help you achieve your dream as well.

I have had a dream for about 15 years now to be a stay at home mom and still contribute to my family financially.  My dream has come true to a degree, but I want to be able to contribute a bit more.

I've already started implementing this plan. I've brought in some extra cash using Walmart's Saving Catcher program, Swagbucks and am currently researching other avenues as well.

What have you always dreamed of doing? What does your dream life look like?

Once you figure that out - figure out a small step you can take today to move you toward your dream.  Anything is possible.

How I Plan My Grocery Shopping Trips and Weekly Meals

I thought I would share what I use to help my family stay within our grocery budget each and every week.

Every single week I sit down and make a list of all the stuff we need from the various stores. I don't shop at just one. I shop at Walmart for pet products, laundry, plus various other household supplies and some name brand foods. Then I shop at Aldi's for the majority of my groceries and Weis Markets for meats. It's a personal preference and based on the quality of products in my particular area.

It's really easy to find lots of printable weekly menu planners with the grocery list. Here are just a few that are free to download so you can start using a meal planner immediately.

Here's one I created 2 years back.
DIY Home Sweet Home - This one is colorful with the menu planning at the top and grocery list at the bottom.
GlueStickBlog - A really nice looking menu planning sheet included in their 2015 planner printable pack.

Once I found one I liked, I printed 52 copies back to back on my printer. You can also save the document to a flash drive and have it printed at a copy shop. After I printed it out I created a quick cover page and printed it out also.

Then I took my printed planner pages and had them bound at my local Office Depot. They even added a clear cover and white backing. It cost a total of $3.80. I love the way it looks and it's much sturdier too.

Here is what mine looks like on a typical week. I cross everything off as I find them and check off each meal as I use them. I don't necessarily eat whatever I listed for the day of the week.

Speaking of the grocery list. I include EVERYTHING that I need to buy for the week on that list. That means food, cleaners, pet food and supplies, paper products, plus any miscellaneous things my family needs that we were able to plan for.  If it's not on the list I will surely forget it.

Some people starting out wonder how I know the prices of everything. To be honest I know the prices of 95% of the stuff on my list because I purchase it often. The stuff I'm unsure the price of I use a best guess and I always over-estimate. Once you've been doing this for a couple weeks it will be just as easy for you.

People have asked why I keep all my previous week's lists. I keep them so I can get menu ideas and check prices on items I purchase infrequently. Another reason is to remember what I did when we only had $50 a week or $100 a week to feed my family of 5 if I ever have to do that again.

I really hope this helps you and your family stay within your grocery budget like it has my family.

5 Creative 2015 Monthly Calendar Printables

It's a new year and that means you need to update all your old calendars. I've found a couple of really adorable monthly calendars for 2015 made by some creative bloggers out there. Did I mention they are fre^e?

1. The FlandersFamily website offers a few choices for printable calendars, but I truly love their scrapbooking calendar. They have adorable graphics and are colorful. This one is my favorite for the year!

2. Shining Mom.com offers very pretty monthly calendars. They even offer your choice of Sunday or Monday start.

3. My Name is Snickerdoodle.com is offering a really unique calendar. It is visually appealing, but not for those who like to write in each day's space. It has many little hexagons in a rainbow of colors. Truly very pretty.

4. Blessed Beyond A Doubt.com offers monthly calendars with owls on them. I love, love, love owls. While there check out some of her other amazing printables.

5. Thirty Handmade Days.com has the most adorable 1/2 size calendars. They even offer suggestions for how to use them. Love the colors and the size.

My 2014 Goals Printable

The new year is only days away and I wanted to share a fun way to document your goals for the year. Whether you call them goals or resolutions, it doesn't matter. Just keep them written down and display them throughout the year to remember them.

Write in the boxes, draw or add small photos to record your goals. Then check them off once you've achieved them. Have fun with it and enjoy!

Week of Thankfulness - Day 1 With Thanksgiving Printable

Since this is Thanksgiving week I decided to make it a week full of thankfulness on the blog.

My kids are off school all week and today was my youngest child's Parent-Teacher Conference, so I wanted to express how thankful I am that my kids attend such wonderful schools.

All my kids have gone to the same elementary school. We love the principal, teachers and staff.  Just last week the principal let the students wrap him up with tissue paper like a mummy and in the past he allowed the students to duct tape him to the wall. He knows the names of almost all the kids and even the most of the families.

The teachers are caring, helpful and go above and beyond to help their students. The reason they can do this is because lots of parents volunteer. Not just in the classroom, but in the office, at the copier, even helping out from home.

If you want a great school for your children - start by helping out. Any little bit of time you can give to help out will help make the school better. Giving just 10 minutes copying papers for a teacher can give them 10 minutes more to spend with the students or plan their classes.

Maybe your child's school is not all that wonderful, but one teacher or staff member is. What matters most is there is a person your child enjoys.

I am thankful that there are wonderful adults to surround my children each day. They help them grow, learn and help them nurture their curiosity.

Enjoy this free printable I created to help you remember all the many things you have to be thankful for.  Click Here
